Mentorship and peer-to-peer program
Stichting Amsterdam in Movement is committed to creating a positive change and empowering our community.
The mentorship and peer-to-peer education project embodies this commitment. Our target group is teenagers and young adults in the area of Amsterdam Noord (aged 13-19 years old), equipping them with necessary skills and knowledge to become sport instructors. The project doesn’t stop at the educational aspects; we will support the selected group starting classes for the children of the area and keeping the activities inclusive and affordable for everyone.
The objective of this project aims to inspire, educate and motivate young people from the area of Amsterdam Noord. Specifically, our goal is to provide mentorship and education to empower these young adults to become certified sport teachers. This initiative will equip them to initiate classes for the children of the area, promoting inclusivity, diversity and community engagement.
Noord Sisterhood Collective project
The Noord Sisterhood Collective (NSC) aims to create a safe and inclusive space for a diverse group of womxn to gather, engage in activities, and support each other. The project’s true essence lies in fostering meaningful connections and building a strong support network among participants. NSC addresses the unique challenges faced by womxn in the community, providing social support and opportunities for personal growth.
Amongst the activities proposed: self-defense lessons, breathing and meditation sessions, fitness.
A note on gender inclusivity:
NSC aims to be inclusive of the variety of gender self-identifications and expressions. The use of the term « womxn » reflects the collective’s commitment to creating a supportive and nurturing environment for all individuals, including cisgender women and those with diverse gender identities.
